• Tis’ the season ๐ŸŽ‰

Back in May, I wanted to do story time at Cheeku’s kindergarten about Ramzan and Eid. I did not have appropriate books on the subject so I checked at my local library.
Having searched in vain myself, I asked a staff member for help.
Unfortunately we found Nothing. Zilch. Nada.
As I turned to leave, saying my Thankyous and Goodbyes, that staff member asked me to wait.
He spent the next 10 minutes searching database across all libraries in our neighbourhood. He then spent 20 more minutes, making calls to every library on our side of Melbourne.
When he couldn’t find anything he apologised profusely and promised to find and stock some in future.
Thanking him for his effort, I went my way.
And much like the religious spirit that‘s forgotten post Ramzan, I forgot about this as well.
    Until Today.
Today, I woke up to find an email in my inbox. It was from the library, saying my books were ready for pick up.
Unsure, I went in and found these (See photo)
Needless to say I can’t believe the staff guy actually remembered and actually got them. Talk about doing his job well. Putting in extra effort to fulfill ONE person’s special request.
The books have arrived six months late, but they couldn’t have reached us at a better time.
In days leading up to festivities of Christmas, while Cheeku is learning all about sharing gifts and visiting family- I can take this opportunity to refresh Eid and Ramzan with him. We can remember handing out candies to his friends, like the ones he’s receiving nowadays. The iftaris with yummy fruit salad and spicy pakoras. The look on his face that ONE time he caught us having Sehri ๐Ÿ˜‚. Offering Eid prayers at the mosque and getting his very own Eidi money (Where's My Eidi mama? Umm it’s in a safe place Cheeku ๐Ÿ˜ฌ๐Ÿคญ๐Ÿคฅ)
Best of all we can switch on our special twinkling lights again. The ones hanging along our roofline, throwing Disco party colors at all the neighboring houses.
    After all......
'Tis the season to be jolly
Fa la la la la, la la la la
Deck the halls with boughs of holly
Fa la la la la, la la la la
    Sing we joyous all together,
Fa la la la la, la la la la
Heedless of the wind and weather
Fa la la la la, la la la la
    Fa la la la la,
    la
    la

    ๐ŸŽ‰HAPPY HOLIDAYS EVERYBODY!๐ŸŽ‰
